Hotel location
Evaluations of Mercure Amsterdam City Hotel
Location
Room temperature was quite high
- Clean and tidy - Friendly staff - Quiet - Close to a metro station
- Rooms are very dark / poor room lighting
good reachable, easy to go to towncenter with the metro
the water cooking was not ok
Hotel was exceptional, absolutely nothing to complain about. Breakfast was outstanding.
Nothing, everything was good.
I´d like it :)
the hotels parking lot is very expensive
Clean rooms, good breakfast
quite far away from the centre // totally unfriendly staff (especially at the reception desk // no Hello, no Goodbye, no Have a nice day, nothing!!) // luggage could be stored separately after check out, however, staff did not help at all when collecting the bags, you could therefore take any bag you'd like - very poor receptional service! We were really disappointed!
very good price/performance
20 min. from downtown, needs a bit walking from metro/tram
Clean
if you want fresh air you have to choose between very loud air conditioning or very loud street noise. Parking costs 20 Euros (but you might find a spot in the street for free).
sound isolation is outstanding. although close to the Highway the rooms are absolutely quiet
Breakfast is very expensive compared to the actual buffet you get. On top of that we had to grab a plate and go to the other end of the hotel, because breakfastroom was full and there was a substantial queue. A hotel this size should always have sufficient place OR organize a second equivalent buffet in this other room or reduce the price as an ultimate compensation. Given the situation we were also faced by unfriendly staff, not at all comprehensive to the guests. You should imagine a hotel this size, close to the RAI exhibition center to have more competence.
