Evaluations of Holiday Inn GRAND RAPIDS - AIRPORT
Location in relation to Bosch Kentwood (10 mins drive), rooms are quiet
Breakfast is very basic
Entire hotel under construction, no lobby, no proper breakfast
Very clean and organized. All facilities well keep including the grounds. Top notch!
Very quiet hotel with really nice ambiance. Wish I would have had more time at the hotel, but only stayed 1 night and arrived very late.
No negative item.
enjoyed staying there
Breakfast food very good. Nice variety compared to other similar Hotels. Staff friendly.
Shower curtain first day did not seem like it had been changed from previous user (yuck!). It had a musty dirty smell and red staining which looked like blood. Night staff eventually was able to find a replacement, but they complained about it. Vent in bathroom could hear plain as day into the next room. Had to keep bath door closed to avoid listening to shower and bathroom habits of other room. The room in the other direction we shared a closed wood / steel door. This door also did not provide adequate sound proofing. The first night, the couple next door must of been hard of hearing and talked very loudly during phone conversations and conversations between the two of them. The second night the person snored loudly to the point I had to turn the air-conditioning fan on and wrap a pillow around my ears to get to sleep. The third and final night the lady had a persistent cough and sounded like she had a bad cold coughing most of the night. Had to turn the ac fan on again. All in all I think the Hotel needs to work on a better solid common door on the one side, and sound proofing the vent in the bathroom on the other. I put recommend on the hotel above, but would definitely shop around and explore other choices in the area.
Cleanliness in all areas of the hotel, in the room and in common areas. Decent food (you get a breakfast coupon for the restaurent attached, based on the room rate you book) but not a buffet.
Sound proofing was not great. Toilet flush or shower of neighbors sounds like it is in yoru room. The restroom had an interesting single door for restroom and sink, kind of tight. No tub in my room, only a standing shower. It was a corner room for me. Plus, some neighbor was smoking (although the entire hotel was nonsmoking!) and it came through to my restroom.
Close to restaurants and shops
I set at the bar/restaurant for supper for 10 minutes and the bartender was only interested in the people at the bar and never came around.
Location to Bosch Plant.
Room near stairwell. could hear people up and down stairs. Breakfast bar not available.
Nice, clean hotel. Nicer than most of the others in the area for the same price.
