Dortmund, situated in North Rhine-Westphalia, is a business and trade centre as well as the Ruhr area’s largest town. Naturally nearly all large hotel groups have settled here. Furthermore, research institutes such as the Forsa Institute for Social Research and the Max Planck Institute for molecular physiology are located in Darmstadt.
