The bed

Not much. Awkward shower 1.6 m high, but quite capable of flooding the bathroom. Everything in the hotel is old. No airco. Breakfast with scrambled eggs made from eggpowder (yuk). Very slow staff. All that for a price of almost €200.

friendly staff. Market with a coffee shop and bakery was very close.

The bed was not comfortable and the linens were lower quality than I would have hoped for. Expensive breakfast.

We had a pleasant stay and the staff were very helpful. It didn't take too long to walk into the town centre.

Hotel is modern and clean. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

I had some problems with the equipment in my room - I had to move rooms because the internet connection did not work, when I moved rooms there was no iron in the new room. One night the TV did also not work.

I was pleasantly surprised that the Maldron Hotel was exactly what was promised. I found it very good value for money and would happily stay there again.

The only slight negative is that no room service is offered - not even the service of bringing you more sugar when you run out. I found that surprising.

May 2008

Clean, comfortable beds, large bathroom (hot water and good pressure). Decent location -- a little bit outside of city center but can be easily reached with the LUAS tram within minutes (station 1-2 min walk). Organic grocery next store WONDERFUL for breakfast or lunch food.

Surrounding neighborhood a bit rundown and deserted. Rooms are badly soundproofed. One can hear doors slamming shut (my room shook) and voices/conversation outside in the hallway very clearly, esp. late night when drunk people coming back. I could not get a solid full night's sleep. Try to get a room FAR from the elevator and/or on the 6th floor. Sometimes yelling can be heard from the courtyard outside.
