Las Vegas of the East

While most people think of Las Vegas as the biggest space in America flor nightlife and casinos, there is actually a great spot on the East Coast for the same, Las Vegas. Located on the New Jersey Shore, Atlantic City is only a short ride from major cities like New York and Philadelphia.

If not driving directly, Atlantic City can be reached generally by rail or bus, with both New Jersey Transit and the Atlantic City Jitney Assoociation. Atlantic City also has a small airport called the Atlantic City International Airport that traveleres can fly into.

Place Your Bets

For many, the biggest draw of Atlanic City are the casinos. The more than ten casinos dot the famous tourism district, with many of the casinos sharing same ownership from those in Las Vegas like the Tropicana, Caesars, Harrah’s and Bally’s. As well as some other independent luxury casino hotels such as the Borgata.

The casinos offer a visitors a wide variety of activities and events beyond just gambling. The casinos also offer a lot of nightlife options, since they regularly host musical events like concerts, theatre shows and comedy performances as well.

The casinos also provide the nerve center of the tourist part of Atlantic City, as there are always plenty of hotel rooms and other visiotrs in this part of town. So it’s not wonder the area is a highlight.

The Boardwalk

Beyond the casinos, one of the other biggest draws of visitors to Atlantic City is the boardwalk area. The oldest boardwalk in America, it runs approximately four miles long along the Atlantic Ocean from Atlantic City. In fact, it was this boardwalk that the game Monopoly was derived from.

In addition to offering a stunning view of the ocean, the Atlantic City boardwalk also has a number of different shops, bars and restaurants. One of the more famous places to shop would include the Pier Shops at Caesars and the Quarter at Tropicana. Visitors often love spending the evenings wandering along the boardwalk watching the sunset and having delicious seafood dinners right on the ocean.
