By car from Stockholm 1. Drive road E18 northbound from Roslagstull about 15 km. 2. Turn off at Arninge Trafikplats, choose road 274. 3. Drive on road 274 to Vaxholm. 4. Drive Stockholmsvägen, Kungsgatan, Parkgatan. 5. Turn left to Söderhamnen in Vaxholm, turn right into Hamngatan. 8. Take the Cable Ferry, Ferry or Taxi boat to Kastellet (You need to park your car in Vaxholm)

Boat Catch the ferry called Waxholmsbåten at Strömkajen in front of Grand Hotel in central Stockholm. After about an hour of pleasant cruising you will arrive to Vaxholm and Kastellet. Bus Bus 670 departs for Vaxholm from Östra Station and/or Danderyds Sjukhus. The drive takes about 45 minutes.
