Pristine, golden sands sprawl across the curvaceous coast, providing a sun drenched sanctuary for those seeking a warm welcome. In this attractive and appealing resort, raucous revelry combines with excellent restaurants and impressive water sports portfolios. Few reminders of Torremolinios’ maritime majesty remain in the town due to the mass influx of tourism during the sixties, however a scattering of authentic fish bar prove perfect places to chase the past.
It is unanimously hailed that Torremolinios’ principal allure is its sandy stretch of beach, a vibrant strip upon which sun seekers recline, revellers sip cocktails and children play in the gentle waves. Between the beach and the rows of high rise hotels is a picturesque promenade known as Paseo Maritimo; here, sophisticated boutiques, refined restaurant and atmospheric bars jostle for the attention of relaxed wanderers.
Wander to the end of the pretty promenade in order to discover a village that time left untouched; La Carihuela is a quaint and quintessentially Spanish place in which flower filled patios and cute cottages decorate the sedate streets. In shady plazas, locals languidly play chess and sip refreshing beers while traditional taverns serve rustic specialities that are guaranteed to pleasure the palate.
Sample sublime Spanish specialties in the impossibly quaint surroundings of the La Cacerola Restaurant, an atmospheric eatery whose pretty patio proves a perfect place upon which to dine. Succulent, barbequed meats are served accompanied by fresh salads and crisp potatoes for a truly satisfying and special dining experience.
