Evaluations of Crystal Cove Condominiums
The beach was nice. The air conditioning worked well once I figured how to turn it on.
I arrived at 5:45 p.m. but the office was already closed for the day. They left a note on the office's door but no key and no further contact information! Luckily I had a cell phone and a printout of the reservation, which included the office's telephone number, and the answering machine gave the telephone number of the manager. I had to wait for 45 minutes before getting the key, while being eaten up by mosquitoes in hot muggy weather. On checkout, they charged me an extra 18% above the rate quoted on the Web. I believed these extra charges (supposedly two different types of taxes) should have been disclosed on the Web site before reservation. I felt ripped off. The beach is nice, but it is fairly remote. I had a rental car and can't think how I could have managed the stay without one. They do not offer, e.g., any breakfast. (For lunch and dinner, I guess you can order delivery if you manage to get the phone numbers and such.) The bed was a so-called Murphy bed with a spring mattress that was quite uncomfortable (possibly due to age or insufficient number of springs or padding).
