A traditional 18th-century country inn, the uniquely named Lion and Fiddle is situated in the village of Hilperton. With a bar and restaurant, it is only a 5-minute drive from Trowbridge town centre and train station, which has services to Bath. The inn offers freshly prepared lunch and evening meals, along with bar snacks. When the weather is pleasant, guests can enjoy the well kept garden. The bar stocks a good range of local beers and popular national beers, along with wines and soft drinks. The spacious restaurant serves an a la carte menu and a host of popular house special dishes. Rooms at the Lion and Fiddle inn have carpeted floors, a TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, sometimes reaching the gardens. It also offers a large private car park. The historic city of Bath is just 11 miles away, or a 15-minute journey by train. In the Heart of the Vale of the White Horse, Towbridge is close to many historic and popular attractions. Guests can visit Avebury, Lacock, and the Castle Coombe village, along with Longleat and Bradford-on-Avon. Unless by prior arrangement, no food will be served on Sunday evenings. Early check-in from 12:00 - 22:00 is available on Saturdays and Sundays. Check-in is from 12:00 - 14:30 and 17:00 - 22:00 between Monday and Friday.
