Evaluations of TRAVELODGE EDINBURGH CENTRAL PRINCES STR
The bed was good. The room was clean.
Only take breakfast if you like cornflakes with sterilized milk and rubbery muffins with chemical orange juice. Better go to station to get a good coffee and a real breakfast for almost the same price. No free wifi (Only for half an hour)
Very awkward room with a disable design bathroom.Dark and cold feeling in it.
Noise - either from other guests or staff, serious prolonged banging.
It was central
Firstly, we arrived around 2pm with a little luggage and asked if our room was ready. The receptionist said it is BUT as it is not 3pm we will charge you £10 to go in now! I couldn't see anywhere in the booking email that stated a time when the room would be ready? Secondly the window sill was filthy (it is a wide sill between the outer window and the inner window.) Thirdly, the bed was uncomfortable, it wasnt nearly as comfortable as Premier Inn beds. Fourthly, when I was searching for a hotel in the centre of Edinburgh the hotel cam up with yours on ´´Princess Street´´. This is misleading as the reception access is in a dark, filthy back street lane. That normally you would avoid as it looked as if it could be a dangerous lane to walk along.
Great location, friendly staff, quick check-in and check out, clean room, comfy bed.. what more do you need?
it would be helpful if it is mentioned somewhere that there is no restaurant facilities in the hotel and the breakfast is actually a pre-prepared snack box
Great location for a hotel. Right in the city walkable distance from all the shops, bus stops and tourist attractions. Good tv channels and also provided two nice pillows per person. Staff were very friendly when arriving.
The room had an awful smell, had to buy a spray from the sainsburys across the road to make the smell manageable. The noise from building work was terrible, every morning from 8am... Only one half an hour free wifi service available. If the bus can have free wifi why can't a hotel in a large city?
Room had no window to open and was very stuffy so had to be moved at 1am with a 3 yr old child. V inconvenient.
Very central location
Our room was without electricity. We reported it to reception but it wasn't fixed. Not ideal! Especially in a very warm climate and we couldn't use the electric fans. No sleep all night. It was also very grubby, with an extremely bad smell of some kind of cleaning chemical and sweat. Hairs left in both the sink and shower.
Location close to Waverley Station only minutes walk Size of the room
In room TV too small
