Bring earplugs - most windows overlook an aisle with fan coils humming and banging 24h a day
Location was very convenient for the event I was going to. Room was clean and features looked updated and pain recent.
Wifi signal was very week, it was impossible to work at the hotel neither at the room, nor at the lobby. Called for help, however solution to change room was impractical at that moment.
In the middle of Chicago, close to all facilities

THE ROOM WAS CLEAN, LOCATION WAS PERFECT, PLEASANT INTERIOR FOR AN OLDER HOTEL. WE LOVE TO TRAVEL AND OLDER HOTELS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FAVORITE WITH US
THE FIRST MORNING OF OUR STAY, WATER WAS LEAKING THROUGH THE CEILING IN THE BATHROOM, WE DID MANAGE TO USE THE SHOWER, BUT IT WAS DISGUSTING. WE NOTIFIED THE FRONT DESK AND MAINTENANCE DID ARRIVE AND TELL US THAT THE TUB ABOVE US WAS RUNNING OVER. ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER EXPLANATION OR ROOM CHANGE WAS OFFERED. ON THE SECOND DAY OF OUR STAY THE WATER BEGAN LEAKING FROM THE CEILING DURING THE NIGHT, THE FLOOR, TOWELS AND CARPETING OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM WERE SOAKED WHEN WE GOT UP. WE CALLED THE DESK AND ASKED FOR THE MANAGER TO COME TO THE ROOM. A VERY NASTY YOUNG WOMAN AT THE DESK TOLD US THAT NO MANAGER AND NO ONE OF AUTHORITY WERE IN THE HOTEL. ONE ROOM ATTENDANT DID SAY SHE MIGHT BE ABLE TO ARRANGE FOR US TO TAKE A SHOWER IN ANOTHER ROOM. WE INFORMED HER THAT WE WOULD BE LEAVING. NO COMPENSATION OR REFUND WAS OFFERED OTHER THAN A $25.20 SATISFACTION CREDIT WHICH WE FELT WAS JUST AN INSULTING SLAP IN THE FACE. A VERY NICE CONCIERGE DID FOLLOW US OUT OF THE DOOR AND SAY THAT HE WAS SORRY THAT WE WERE SO UNHAPPY WITH OUR TREATMENT. THAT WAS THE NICEST OF ALL OUR INTERACTIONS WITH THE STAFF!!
