Evaluations of Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur
Staff, with one exception, perhaps he was having a bad moment, were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet had lots of variety and room was big and comfortable with good bathroom. This hotel may not suit five star frequenters with much more money to spend in order to have their posteriors festooned with kisses but for considerably less money this is quite a decent hotel and suited me just fine for a brief bit of luxury.
I asked for an adaptor as the hotel used British receptacles unlike the combined European American ones in much of Asia. After waiting well over an hour and being called twice to see if it had yet arrived, I went down and asked the new person at the concierge desk. He apologized, reached in the drawer, pulled out several and gave me one. After that, the original concierge was quite friendly.
Location is OK
Its not 5 star hotel, is simply 5 star facilities hotel, hotel staff, simply will charge lumpsum from your card and claims to give back, not honest in terms of credit card payments. Room size very small in compare to any 4 star hotel. not maintaining 5 star standards at all.
close to public transport (KTM and LRT), which can save a lot of time to get around in KL
internet connection in the room very unstable. IT support came to my room and stated that it was too far from the router, which caused the instability. had to take my laptop to a restaurant outside to get my work done..
Huge varied breakfast, enough for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very close to PWTC station and Starbucks (for Expresso addicts)
The hotel is not really a 5 star, in Europe it wouldn't be more than an old 2 to 3 star. The lobby is impressive, but the rooms are very very old, at least from the 80´s...It was clean, though. The worst part is the area, according to Malaysian friends, this is a dangerous area at night where small crimes are common and where locals avoid going. We had no problems because we were left at the entrance by car and didn´t walk outside at night, but one can easily feel it is a poor neighborood. That explains the cheap price.
Well priced. Breakfast which was included, has a good variety to choose from. Fast food chains - Starbucks, Secret Recipe, Mc Donalds, Pizza Hut and a mall, is just at the ground floor of the building. Should be convenient for those travelling with children. Very helpful and good staff
Blower for the air-condition system for the room was weak. Themostat does not seem to be working and rather hot during the day. However the front desk responded quickly to the call but improvement on the A/C was very minor. If you are driving, Prepare to go round-&-round 8 floors up the tower as the check-in lobby is on the 9th floor. Ample parking space though
I was served professionally by a ms hartini at the front office. Breakfast was a joy becos of an excellent service provided by a Md Kamal who was quick with initiating to bring a cup of guava juice (i thought the one on the table was mine when it was actually my wife's). I did not expect that but was delighted, none the less.
very nice for check in counter staff .I don't remember her name.and concierce member are all comfortable to ask for information.and good in response.
1.Noises from metro train every time when passing by PWTC station eventhough you increase one glass shield to decrease the noises. It isn't work just rechecking the first shield can n't slide to the end position. So it can't protected the noises.2. Room Lighting system the switches should some can dimple not only on and off if possible (especially 2 over head lamps)
Hotel is patrt of a shopping center, so it is easy to get everything you need. Sightseeing bus departs not very far from the hotel, but staff does not know about it. 20 Ringit by taxi to twin towers. 3 Levels of carparing are reserved for the hotel, parking is complimentary. If you want to stay in the city, this hotel is good. Fitness and pool very nice.
No restaurants close to the hotel. If you want dine out, you have to go by taxi or wak a while.
