Hotel location
Evaluations of Scandic Malmen
A tiny room in the basement with no window and next to the lift is not what you expect for over 230 Euros per night. I will not stay there again.
Location in Södermalm
No WLAN Access, because it was broken :-(
The hotel has cocktailbar with GOOD bartenders. If you like cocktails this is a real bonus. It is 10 meters from the hotel to the Subway which is a GREAT benefit
Södermalm is NOT easy to drive in with lots of construction going on / Use the subway
Great breakfast/restaurant
Ordered queen bed, but got twin adjacent single beds
Good price, central, clean...
I was there during renovation/reconstruction. The restaurant was closed and the replacement could not cope with all the people. It took a long time to find a free table for breakfast. Also, note that the cheapest rooms (cabin rooms) are below ground with no windows. The rooms are still fairly large and very quiet. Not a problem for me, but might be for some.
There is no minibar in the room, which is not comfortable. And understood thet there is a kind of electronic problems with television and wake up/message system since in the evening there was a sign for message to meas voice mail but i can not read it nor hear and after I can not watch TV since programm was switching in 5 seconds to advertising. And at 5.45 in the morning the TV switched on itself waking up and it was not only in my room but in room of my colleagues who stayed in the hotel as well.
