Evaluations of Residences Apartment Majestik Downtown Montreal
Suite of rooms (2 rooms, kitchen and bathroom) New equipment. Cleaned every day. Kitchen available if you feel like cooking.
Noisy, my room had window going out on the wall and exhaust from a next-door food place right below it, which caused it to be noisy. No one was at the desk except for the time of our arrival, invoice was printed incorrectly and staff was not very helpful with fixing it (had to go via out travel department). Building itself was old and had e.g. antennae socket ripped out of the wall in the bedroom. No breakfast / food service whatsoever. Staff was literally invisible.
Spacious rooms. Reasonable price for the great location. Very friendly and helpful staff (when you can reach them).
The ´´24 hour´´ reception description on hotel.info is completely inaccurate. There is no one physically manning the front desk, but there is a contact number on the (locked) front door that you are supposed to call when you arrive. We arrived at noon, not expecting our room to be ready, but expecting to drop our bags off with the conceirge. We called the appropriate number and were told to come back at 3 - so we had to lug our bags around town for 3 hours. During our stay, we had a problem with our keys. Since there is no 24 hour reception, and the contact person was unavailable, I had to wait half hour in the hallway before this was taken care of. After our stay, I tried to contact the hotel multiple times (email and telephone) for an extra copy of our hotel receipt (which, I could have asked for at the reception desk had there been one) - it's been 72 hours, still no response - completely unprofessional. The kitchen is bare bones - don't expect to make a giant feast - very limited kitchenwares. Water pressure was horrible. Plus, it took forever for the toilet bowl to fill up - about 1/2 hour between flushes. They did clean the rooms, they told us every day, but it was maybe every other day. Towels had an unusual smell, smoke maybe? Room was fairly clean - some excess dust bunnies lying around that wouldn't be in your standard Hilton
