Hotel location
Evaluations of Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino
Renaissance Jaragua is conveniently located in downtown Santo Domingo. It's one of 4 or 5 land mark large modern hotels in the Dominican capital and over all quite competitive. Overall a very generously sized and laid out hotel with a lot of space in and out. Quite a nice fitness room. Local and international personnel is very friendly, typical for the Dominican Republic. If I can get a similar offer on this property, I will definitely consider R. Jaragua again.
The outdoor pool need refinishing. The breakfast buffet is the one thing I feel the Jaragua is lagging behind, when compared to the other large hotel. Again, with very charming and helpful personnel but with a rather poor quality of foods displayed. There was a very loud ´´boomy´´ outdoor concert on the Western neighboring property on my first night and I had to ask to be relocated into a room not facing it. Something they ought to have accounted for when organizing their guests. But they corrected that immediately without any arguments. an other night, the smoke alarms went crazy in the middle of the night throughout the wing where I was in. They fixed it in 5 minutes... but it made not my best night. Things like these happen everywhere... even thought they shouldn't. Again, at the rate I got, I will consider staying at R. Jaragua again.
