Evaluations of Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel
Room, Gym, Staff, Internet works well
Lobby can be more spacious
Air condition / Heating is very very noisy!
Attractive rate for a top-tier Marriott property and centrally located to northern chicago suburbs. Friendly staff. Adheres to the room preferences set in my profile as best as possible without asking for them if booked far enough in advance (e.g Room Fridge, Extra Towels, etc). Workout room is small, but open 24 hours. Individual TV's are on the treadmills and eliptical machines. Club lounge breakfast and hors d'oeuvres are generally good.
Club (Concierge) Lounge for Elite members is sometimes difficult to get to. Only 2 out of the 4 elevators travel to the club level on the 9th floor and requires you to swipe the key card prior to pressing the club lounge button. I do not always get the ´´club´´ elevator when pressing the up button (from any floor other than the lobby floor) and have to sometimes take 2 elevators to get to the club lounge. The staircases to the club lounge are locked as well so you are forced to take the elevator. Bottled water in the refridgerators is not always replenished. Cleaning staff works in limited hours. Leaving dishes in the hallway often do not get picked up until the next day. Ruth Chris Steakhouse attached to the hotel does not do room service.
- Internet needs to be purchased - Wireless completely unreliable. Was not able to get it going...not even with hotel support. - Loud airconditioning in the room
Very nice hotel. I would recommend to other colleagues.
The workout facility is very limited, so if you like to work out this might not be the hotel for you.
Poor internet service, Cold showers, Ventilation system allowed room to fill up with smoke from other guests (even in a non-smoking hotel)
Great lounge for elite members, very caring and helpful staff in the lounge
Cold water showers, poor internet service, bad elevators Poor desk staff, not attentive to helping solve problems (too busy)
Need Digital TV and more stations
I had to use Ipass to connect ot hotel wireless and if you wanted to print anything, there was a charge to use the printer. A lot of wind noise through the windows.
Vivian, the room service order taker was Very nice and helpful.
The first room I had dozens of dead ladybugs and about a dozen live lady bugs in it. There was #2 in the toilet when I arrived. The second room they gave me was smaller.
