Evaluations of Osaka Joytel Hotel
Stayed here once before, and was so satisfied that I booked again for the next week as I had to return to Osaka. Then I had reason to extend that second stay, and unhesitatingly remained in the Joytel. In fact, will stay again next year
No major restaurants in the area, but more than enough choice for a 3 - 4 day stay
Needed to be in Osaka on consecutive weeks and had no qualms about booking a second time after my first experience. Good easy to reach locality
Zero negative
This hotel is by far the best value in Osaka. My wife and I would stay here again and will recommend it to our friends. Personnel at the front desk were very polite and helpful. Our room (1501) was very clean, quiet, and nicely furnished. It has a refrigerator, hot water maker, free tea, cups free internet connection (cable provided), bathtub, and plenty of very hot water available at all times. Free coffee and a computer with free internet is provided in the hotel lobby. A very good buffet breakfast (Japanese and American) was included. American choices included rolls, toast, butter, jam, juices, soft scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage, fruit cocktail, and coffee, cream, and sugar.
1. Taxis are very expensive in Osaka, so we traveled from Kansai Airport by rail and subway. This was difficult because we were first time visitors to Osaka, have no Japanese language ability, and English is not widely understood in Osaka after one leaves the airport. We took the Nankai railway from the airport and transferred to the Yotsubashi subway. The subway station is far from the railway station and was very difficult to find. 2. This hotel is a 2-minute walk from exit 5 of the subway station. However, it was difficult to find because signage from exit 5 is inadequate, the hotel front entrance is on a side street, the front desk is on the 9th floor of a commercial building, and the elevator to the front desk is not visible from the front entrance of this building. The hotel website provides no information on how to get to the hotel from the airport. 3. The personnel at the front desk were very polite and helpful, but their English was very, very limited. 4. The hotel dining room is for breakfast only, and the only western food available near this hotel is McDonald's. There are very few western style restaurants in all of Osaka! 4. This hotel has no safety boxes. They place your valuables in a small envelope, seal it with tape, and store it in a room next to the front desk. 5. The air conditioning control in our room didn't work and it was too cold (for us) at night. Personnel at front desk said (in very poor English) that they could not increase the temperature.
