Incredible Indian Capital

New Delhi was named the capital of India after the British relinquished control of the country in the early 1900s. With an incredible 20 million people living in the metro area, there is more than enough to do and see for multiple trips to the area.

Though a city of riches and poverty, New Delhi captures some of the very best of life on the and has been increasingly welcoming more and more visitors from across the world.

New Delhi can be reached by the Indira Gandhi International Airport, and the city itself is quite easy to navigate via the public transport system that include rail, with the New Delhi Railway Station as the main hub of the city.

Numerous Historic Sites and Museums

Though most may think of India primarily in terms of the British Raj during modern times, the country, and New Delhi itself, have been operating for thousands of years.

Touched by cultures that include Asian and Middle Eastern in addition to British, the city of New Delhi and the surrounding areas can really provide a wonderful showcase. To see some of the most popular, head to the India Gate, the Martyr’s Column, and the ancient Qutub Minar.

New Delhi is also home to a number of museums that feature thousands of works of art and pieces collected that are centuries old. Plenty of Sports

Another really fun activity to take in while in New Delhi would be enjoying some of the local, and very popular, sports residents take part in. One of the biggest national sports in India is cricket, and New Delhi itself has a team called the Delhi Daredevils.

Field hockey is also quite popular in New Delhi, so many visitors really enjoy heading to one of the many sport stadiums that dot the city and spending an afternoon enjoying cheering for a spirited game.
