Evaluations of Namba Oriental Hotel
I have been in Hilton, Ritz-Carlton, LaForet and the Namba Oriental has the best ratio of price and comfort. Rooms are much bigger than in e.g. Granvia Osaka and slightly bigger than Hilton. Internet is free (to be payed in Hilton and Ritz-Carlton). In addition, the Nankai train is directly going from the airport to Nankai train station for either 890 Yen or 1350 Yen (Limited Express). In general I will go there the next business trips and private trips eventhough I love Ritz-Carlton.
For a first timer in Japan, this Hotel may be a bit tricky to be found because the Taxi cannot directly stop at the Hotel and walking from the train station to the Hotel (300 meters) is not easy if you never have been there. It is 4 stations via underground to the new Bayer Yakuhin building (starting mid of August)while Hilton and Ritz-Carlton are in the same area.
Very unfriendly hotel staff, Check In is at 3PM and if you like your room earlier you have to pay extra. Friends called from oversea and it took at least 3 calls before somebody was able to connect to the room.
