the only thing: The location.
The first room i was offered, was as big as a closet, and down in the basement. The other room i got was on the upper floor // better but still not worth the money. Wifi didnt work on the top floor. The breakfast (included) was a laugh. A hard boiled egg/ marmalade coffee thee or juice. No cheese or sausage etc. One choice of bread. Slamming doors all the time, because of bad isolation. And as stated in escription of other guest the charge you for your credit card an not just a few pence.
Poor breakfast. Damp in rooms. No hair dryer, no teaspoons. Staff smoking outside our window.
Cheap and cheerful! Good location near Paddington, helpful staff.
Smallish room with moderate furnishings. Some fittings, TV, bathroom have been recently updated but carpet, bed and furniture are jaded.
Staff was polite
The hotel was a very bad experience. Photo of room was not even close to the room I rented. Room was on the 4th floor with no lift. Narrow cork screw staircase. Items were broken in room (toilet seat, exhaust fan, towel bar, window pane). Bed was lumpy and margins of carpet needed to be vacumed. On the first night I asked to be relieved of my contract for night 2. I was told I would be penalized for not giving 48 hours notice. Found a comparable age hotel around the corner on my return to London a few days later for 20 pounds less that met my expectations. Linden House could be a nice Hotel but they need to take a piece of their rent and reinvest in the property. I am 63 years old and with-out a doubt the worse experiece I have ever had while staying at a hotel. Buyer beware.
Staff not very friendly. Hotel needs renovating. Rooms very small.
The door to the room had to be forced open or closed. It was like the door was warped and did not line up correctly with the door frame any more.
The location is good. Room was very small and cold.
The description of the location makes it sound much closer to Oxford etc. Pictures make all rooms appear larger than they are.
Everything about it was very good, with the exception of the negative comment below
There were no tea spoons in the bedrooms with which to stir tea or coffee. No canteen of cutlery was provided at breakfast. There were similarly no tea spoons at breakfast, so again hot drinks could not be stirred. There were also no forks, so that the boiled egg(s), the only 'main course' offered to customers at breakfast, had to be eaten with one's fingers.
Very helpful and efficient staff.
Poor breakfast, nothing cooked.Insufficient dining room space for the amount of people having breakfast.
