No real best bit except location to airport, chirpy and cheerful is best description. Went into Bastia for a meal which was good, but do only if u still have your hire car.

Poor Room size, air con had to battle to keep some comfort in the room, Internet was useless in the room and lobby connection was not much better

breakfast very good indeed

Our stay at Lla Madrague on 29th September 2012, began disastrously and ended confusedly. We had emailed to say we would be arriving by train at Lucciana station and asked to be picked up. This free facility was a big reason for booking. We received email confirmation from the hotel that this would be done. In fact no car turned up. We tried ringing the hotel but were just put on hold. Eventually we decided to undertake the 2 km walk, with cases, on a warm evening. Luckily, again eventually, after a half km struggle, a very kind lady whom we suppose worked nearby, stopped and gave us a lift. On arrival, we registered our disappointment, only to be told by the receptionist that she was alone on duty and had gone to the airport to pick up guests which was why the phone was not answered. The receptionist had no record of the agreement to pick us up from the station in her appointments book! We were given a room number on the second floor and told 'there are the stairs'. No help with cases was offered, (perhaps understandably as she was alone on the desk). The evening meal was OK, although my 'barbecued' veal was burnt to a cinder on the outside and raw inside - I am not exaggerating). One waiter struggled to serve about 40 guests. He did wonderfully and I left him a tip in admiration but it was not an uplifting experience. During the night there was a constant distant thump below from bass pop music like you hear when a car goes past and the driver has his CD playing. It seemed to be coming from the kitchen area below ( our room number was 232) and I suspect someone on night duty, clearing up perhaps, was playing the music. Next morning we were disappointed to see a maid folding up washing in the dining room!!!! Worried about our lift to the airport, we reported promptly at the time agreed the previous evening only to find a confused maid who eventually conveyed that the receptionist chauffeur was still at the airport. Eventually she turned up and we got to the airport, well in time, as we had booked the lift early, fearing exactly what took place. It seemed to us that staff may have been laid off early as it was the end of the season. In any event this is disgraceful service and I would hate others to suffer as we did. One final thing, the receptionist did not supply the code for internet so by the time we had undressed it was not worth goig downstairs to find it. We suggest guests are automatically given this at the welcome.

The hotel is good value for money and very convenient for the airport. A courtesy mini-bus service is provided. Staff were very helpful and obliging.

The hotel badly needs a make over. The rooms and public areas are very dated.

Could be said to be value for money

We stayed on a Saturday night and were not aware when we booked that this hotel has an underground night club and were therefore kept awake from midnight until 4 am by thumping music - avoide at all cost. This is described as a Spa hotel, tranquil and refreshing!
