Tropical Paradise off the Florida Coast

Key West is actually the Southernmost Point in the United States. Situated as the last island on the end of the Florida Key’s chain, it is a place that has nice beaches, plenty of palm trees and a lively atmosphere.

What might set Key West apart from other places in the US, aside from the great weather year round, is the party lifestyle the island employes.

Most visitors will arrive in Key West one of three ways. Via the small Key West International Airport, through the ferry terminal at the Port of Key West off of Mallory Square or via highway from mainland Florida.

Plenty of Fun and Nightlife

Key West is the place to be for visitors who are looking for a lot of laid back fun and plenty of nightlife while away on vacation. From the rows of bars and cafes on Duval Street to the Sunset Celebration that goes on each night at Mallory Square featuring street performers, there is plenty of the party atmosphere to be found on the island.

In Key West, Duval Street is known as the center of the nightlife, running the length of the island, the North end of the street is where to be. For a fun night hopping around some of the most famous hot spots, head to Duval Street and hit up Irish Kevins, a dueling piano bar, then over to Hog’s Breath and Sloppy Joes. For some of the famous Key West conch fritters, try the Conch Shack for the best of the local flavors and flair.

Tons of Festivals

Another favorite of visitors and residents of Key West is the amazing number of festivals that the island hosts each year. Starting in January and running through December, there are monthly festivals that attract thousands of people to the tropics. One of the best fests has to be the Conch Republic Independence Celebration which is held in late April of every year. Other popular festivals are Key West Race Week, Key West Lobsterfest and Fantasy Fest as well.
