Evaluations of Jurys Inn Derby
Didn't eat, or use the gym, so can't evaluate - form needs correcting.
Long queues on checkout. Wait is typically 15mins plus after 0730
Stayed in Room 102 this time. It is close to ground floor, small and at the back of the hotel, hence it is very close to a noisy urban overpass road outside. Sleep quality was not good.I would not like to stay in this room again. This is a lower than average review is not reflective of other stays I have weekly at this Jurys' hotel. Additionally, one particular member of staff on reception (that everyone tries to avoid) again has to be reminded of upgrade items for regular guests. It is becoming a battle of wills to get complimentary drink vouchers every time one has to deal with her.
Friendly staff
I was given a disabled room (not normally an issue) but it was offered to me as an option and only described at check in as ´´would you like a room with a shower?´´. I answered 'yes'. This was a little underhand and economic with the truth in my opinion. The problem with the room was that the hand basin was fixed far to low and is far too small for regular use by a non-disabled guest. It is almost impossible to use to wash or shave in at hip height! The mattress in this room (209) was also extremely soft compared to other rooms I have stayed in. I had a poor night's sleep in this room.
High room availability. quiet, firm mattress, good nights sleep
Right in the centre of Derby City (close to the cathedral). Friendly staff and extended checkout available (2 p.m.) Nice coffee-shop - given free coffee voucher and 10% off food.
Car Park under hotel, but accessibility to hotel is very poor. You have to walk out of the garage into the open air, uphill to the hotel - why is there no internal access (there is for staff!)? Particularly the access is poor for disabled - even the drop-off point is quite a walk uphill to the entrance. No mains-socket to charge mobile phones or ipads near to the night-table. Had to use my own extension cable.
This was a delightful hotel, clean and modern good value for money..
Carpark not many spaces found ourselfs going to another carpark because no spaces..
Clean hotel,comfortable room,ideal location.
Restaurant closed evenings, average breakfast, bar poorly stocked, limiting drink options,Christmas decorations taken down completely by 30th December. Not a very festive atmosphere, short staffed, those staff that were there seemed generally disinterested. We were not asked about our stay on departure. Generally very disappointed as we had travelled from Portsmouth to stay over the festive season, which was ruined due to this experience. Would not recommend this hotel or likely to stay again.
