The hotel room had been renovated and the furniture as well as the bathroom were quite new

The carpet was still old so it gave a worn-out feeling despite the newness of the furtniture, there was smoke smell (cigarrette) coming out of the ventilation system and it was very strong, and there was no heating so it was quite cold. Also the room felt very dark.
