The Gizella Mill was built by the Krausz-Moskovits family in 1880, until 1963 had been functioning as a steam mill. The renovation was finished in 2010, preserving the special industrial atmosphere.
High ceilings and huge, open spaces, brick walls and pillars, stalwart steel girders and massive beams – the most important unique characteristics of the Gizella lofts. Surviving the wars in Budapest, the building had been functioning as a steam mill. In the past decades it had been used as a warehouse until it was demolished in 2000 in order to be converted into a residential building. The construction work of the 100 new loft-style apartments was finished in 2010, preserving the special industrial atmosphere of the mill. Unique design furnishing elements comes from the industrial past - metal works of art, tables made of 100 years old oak tree, accessories, decorations. The inner courtyard of the building is also unique and preserved with the original corridors and stairways.
