In the early20s it was sold to enrique fraccia a prominentitalian merchant the exclusive representative ofthe peruvian steam navigation company. MR. Fracciaalso bought 100 hectares of land and was verysuccessful with his pima cotton plantation. Thehacienda was inherited by his nephew enrique de laborda roncaggiolo. In 1968 during the militaryjunta the land was expropriated and given to theworkers. Fortunately the de la borda family wasallowed to keep the casa hacienda and 10 hectaresof land. Being impossible to keep the cottonbusiness running in an effective way hisdescendants in 1980 decided to modify the premisesand transform the into a 38 room friendly familyhotel. In 2005 they sold the property and a newadministration took over the business and sincethen the hotel has been going through constantinnovations. Many areas of the old hacienda thathad fallen into ruins after the 1996 earthquakehave been rebuilt respecting the originalarchitecture and a as a result the hotel has now88 rooms including suites junior suites quadrupletriple double and single rooms including two roomsfor disabled guests. There is also a reading roomplayroom tv room and a main drawing room. There isalso a large dining room and an outside bar closeto the swimming pool. There is a chapel and aconference room. The 5 acre garden holds a largevariety of plants including bougainvilleas thatare over 100 years old. There is a planetariumwhere in a virtual way the theory of maria reichethat relate the nazca lines with theconstellations of the southern hemisphere areshown. After the presentation the nazca sky can bescrutinised with large telescopes. The hotel hasalso got its own production of pisco the peruviannational spirit. In our cellar guests canappreciate how the pisco is made in our copperstill.
