If you drive from Waldshut towards Schaffhausen Switzerland, you will enter the geographical Klettgau at Tiengen, where the Wutach flows into the Rhine. The so-called landscape stretches across the Swiss border to the ridges of the Randen almost as far as the Rhine Falls. The name of this ever fertile and idyllically situated valley was borrowed in 1971 for the name of a new municipality, which is composed in the lower Klettgau today from the places Erzingen, Grießen, Geißlingen, Rechberg, Riedern on the sand, Bühl and Weisweil. The approximately 7,500 inhabitants of the municipality Klettgau 390 - 670m above sea level form the border of the Waldshut to Switzerland.
