We are the 5th J Hoppers Hostel located around 3 minute walk from Takayama station. The building used to be a Japanese style ryokan and many of the guest rooms are traditional tatami rooms. The big appeal of the hostel is personal spaces in dorm rooms. It is about 40% more than an ordinary dorm bed. You can always keep your luggage at hand even you are on the top bunk. Most private rooms are Japanese style and also larger than normal hostel private rooms. You can enjoy traditional Japanese tatami mats, shoji paper windows and fusuma closets. We are not only close to the station but also close to major tourist places. Takayama Jinya (historical government office ) and Furui machinami (old alley ) are a stones throw from the hostel. Other information including no curfew and no lockout time, reception hours are 8: 00 11: 00 and 15: 00 21: 00, guest kitchen and dining room for 24 hours, free tea and coffee, 4 guest computers 100 yen for 30 min, 3 unique lounges, free Wifi access, rental bikes 500 yen a day, washing machine 200 yen a load, drier 100 yen for 15 min and beer machine.
