CHC - Christchurch International Airport: (S) Directions from Christchurch International Airport. Exit the airport and at the first roundabout follow the sign to Christchurch city. At the second roundabout, turn right on State Highway 1 towards Hornby. Continue straight ahead towards Hornby at the next roundabout. Drive straight ahead through two sets of traffic lights and continue until you come to a roundabout and take the left turn signposted *Halswell Junction Road.* Follow Halswell Junction Road until you come to Halswell and the road ends. Turn right onto State Highway 75 towards Tai Tapu and Akaroa. Approximately 6km along this road, turn left into Golf Links Road, with the Golf Course on the corner. Go over the one lane bridge and turn right. Around the corner take the next left into Rhodes Road. Otahuna Lodge is at the end of Rhodes Road.

Hotel Description

Established in a 19th century Victorian residence- a few minutes from Christchurch- Otahuna Lodge is an exceptional house- seamlessly knitting past and present together. Antique furniture- period woodwork and remarkable library elegantly intermingle with contemporary creations of New Zealand artists and a rich collection of Maori art. The atmosphere of the 7 suites brings back the glorious Victorian era- with candlesticks and fireplaces of that time- but there again- the patina of bygone times is subtly mixed with luxury and refinement. Outside- this small hill among the hills -meaning of Otahuna in Maori- unveils striking views over the Banks Peninsula- the Canterbury Plains and the hundred-year old garden- home to many rare and protected species. The property is closed for business during the year over the following dates July 13 2009-August 17 2009. CLUB 5C- Hotel welcomes Relais and Chateaux Club 5C members with a VIP Welcome and a Discovery Privilege.
