The O Brien Hotel is located in the Riverwalk area. The most sought-after location in Downtown San Antonio. It is a midscale boutique classic petit hotel. Only 39 rooms. It is a historic building an it is every bit as good as the best historic hotels downtown but much more reasonably priced. This is because it is just one building south of the Riverwalk instead of being directly on it but that just makes it much much quieter especially on weekend nights. The O Brien offers a free hot breakfast which many higher-priced properties do not and if you get a balcony room you can eat it watching the sun rise behind Hemisfair Tower which is a sight you can only see in San Antonio. The hotel is also perfect for attendees of the Convention Center. Just 4 blocks away. The Alamodome for mayor sports and concerts events is 6 blocks away. The heart of Downton is the Alamo Plaza where the State of Texas was born and it is 5 blocks away. Mayor attractions of Downtown are within walking distance and you do not need a car. Rooms have a refrigerator and microwave which would make it perfect for an extended stay or if you wanted to keep leftovers from the many excellent restaurants nearby and heat them up later. It is the perfect location for families of the military attending graduation ceremonies or visiting troops of the many military bases and hospitals in San Antonio. The hotel is also very close to all court houses and federal buildings in Downtown San Antonio. Parking rates are easily half that of higher-priced hotels but much more convenient for in-and-out. Linens furnishings and accessories are all first-rate and service is attentive and kindly in keeping with the true meaning of boutique hotel. This is an excellent choice for someone new to San Antonio or for an old hand.
