Follow the green road signs out of Rome to Roma Sud (Rome South) and take the motorway, Roma – Napoli, until you reach the Naples area. Continue on the motorway and take exit motorway Salerno-Reggio Calabria. Stop at the tollbooths to pay the motorway toll, approximately Euro 5,00 – depending on the size of the vehicle (it is advisable to have a small denomination note ready if you have no coins). Follow signs for Salerno, and then BATTIPAGLIA or EBOLI and follow signs for the main road SS18, signed PAESTUM and AGROPOLI. (If taking the EBOLI turnoff it is approximately 15 minutes further south along the duel carriageway than Battipaglia but it is a much prettier route and well worth it). Bypassing PAESTUM on the right after approximately 30 minutes and then bypassing AGROPOLI, note the Railway station which runs parallel to the main road. Take the slip road signed Agropoli Sud (South) which leads to the SS267 (secondary road). At the bottom of the slip road, keep right, and at the junction ahead turn left, signed S.MARIA DI CASTELLABATE. Follow an extremely winding road for approximately 15 minutes when you will arrive at the outskirts of Santa Maria. Ignore all signs to the left for Santa Maria and/or Castellabate. Instead, drive on with the main village to your right, turning right at the sign for S. Maria (Santa Maria), which is a very sharp right hand turn. Driving on you will pass the Hotel Santa Maria on your left. Immediately after, the walls of the Palazzo grounds start. Where the walls end there is the entrance to the Palazzo – two very large gates. Ring the bell if the gates are closed. Drive down the Palazzo drive and park near the archway. The office/reception is on the right hand side as you enter the archway. • At the motorway entrances and exits do not use the channels reserved for cardholders marked TELEPASS, VIACARD etc. • Normal highroad SS numbers may not appear on signs but are painted on the milestones along the roadside. • Motorway (Autostrada) signs are always green
