Our house is located in Wittenbach on the eastern outskirts of St.Gallen and is only a few minutes by car from the city centre with its UNESCO World Heritage-listed abbey district. The Rössli in Wittenbach looks back on a long tradition: the name of the hotel comes from the so-called Rösslipost, which organised the transport of letters and passengers between St.Gallen and the Lake Constance region. The horses of the Rösslipost stopped here and were given their portion of oats at the old Rösslischeune, while the postilion and guests lingered in the parlour.
