Schlossrued is idyllically situated in the heart of the Ruedertal valley and is the ideal starting point for excursions to the Aarau and Lenzburg regions and to Lake Hallwil or Lake Sempach. The historic Schlossrued castle mill and the Ruedertal weaving and local history museum are in the immediate vicinity. From the east, west or north (e.g. Zurich, Bern, Basel) via the A1 to exit 49 Aarau-West/Schöftland/Kölliken/Suhr, then approx. 7 km to Schlossrued. From the south (e.g. Lucerne, Zug) via the A2 to exit 20 Sursee, then approx. 15 km to Schlossrued.

From Aarau station, the S14 takes 21 minutes to reach Schöftland. From there, a bus takes four minutes to reach Schlossrued. The bus stop is located directly below the castle hill.
