Nothing

This hotel is dirty, lacks investment and the beds are a disgrace. It is noisy and smelly.

Room was very poor. The shower didn't work, the toilet took forever to fill back up and the room unclean.

very friendly receptionist, room and bathroom were clean and in reasonably good condition, quality of dinner was excellent

Huge garbage container next to one of the windows of the dining room was not very appetizing, view from some of the rooms is quite poor

Very friendly staff and food both eveing meal and breakfast were very good.

It was raining vert heavily whilst I was there and there was a leak somewhere outside my bedroom window. Very annoying. TV siganl was unwatchable.

Pleasant place.

The vast majority of the bedrooms are in a modern annex, which is not obvious from the pictures. The annex needs a bit of love and attention, but to be fair to the hotel, it is evident that they are working on modernising the place.

April 2010

Room recently updated, very good quality, but only one mirror which was in the bathroom, none in the room available for the other partner. Good food in restaurant.

Drove past the Hotel, as the Hollin Hall Hotel sign is now completely overridden by huge new 'Ridge Restaurant' signs. Advised people at the reception of this, intended as helpful feedback, and was told 'it still shows Hollin Hall Hotel', implying it was my own fault that I missed it. The photo copied sheets of literature in the room direct us to the 'Orangary Restaurant'for breakfast, but this is now apparently called the Ridge Restaurant, of big new sign fame! Ordered a New Zealand Sauvignon with dinner, and with no explantion had Chilean Chardonay splashed into our glasses. On challenging this, we were told 'Oh, we don't have any of the New Zealand Sauvignon!

Hotel initially appears attractive from outside and is in an attractive location.

Inside, the decor, fixtures and fittings are very tired. Only saw the one bedroom I stayed in but this was rather delapidated and shabby. Very disappointing.
