Evaluations of Holiday Inn SANDTON - RIVONIA ROAD
Internet connection is very good on the room
Convenient location. Friendly staff. No additional charge for early check-in
Building site next to the hotel made it noisy.
Great staff. all friendly and willing to help. Clean room, good facilities, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G view from the pool to the city. Location ideal walking distance to Mandela Square and SAndton city
Breakfast used to be better. I understand there are reforms, but the buffet was not always stuffed properly. no pancakes available anymore.
Sandton is a nice place.
this holiday inn is, to me, below the holiday inn standard. staff need to be trained to be more prompt to welcome guest and solve little issues ( having wake-up call, waiting couple hours to get a room service). the impression is that the hotel is not ´´governed´´: you ask to talk to a manager and nobody, except for the front desk lady, appear to give you an answer. the service at the restaurant is inexistent ( you order food in the service room and after couple hours get something that you didn't order // you order at the restaurant and, in addition to time to wait, you don't get cutlery to have your dinner).
Good located in Sandton. Mandela Square by foot in 5 mins.
May 2014 was a construction site beside the hotel with some noise during daily business hours, but not critical at night.
Nice location. Good room
Staff needs to be more friendly
-friendly staff -room was ok -internet connection available, but slow -very well located
-incompetent staff (we had to search for someone to pay for drinks at the evening, no service at evening at the bar in ground floor at all, took very long to check out) -dirty pool, not cleaned up pool area, cold water -colleague has been asked to pay for capucchino at breakfast
Concierge: Nelson, Life, Joao (very customer oriented) LocatioN: Near city center ´´Sandton´´, some restaurants, bars, clubs
Card need to be reprogrammed several times
Nice, spacious room, excellent room service at a fair price.
Internet: The connection is being reset every hour, so it seems - extremely annoying when using VPN to connect to a company network. Acceptable, if it was for freen, but no... that is a poor service for such a high priced place. A lot of smaller hotels do better (or charge less). Breakfast: Food quality good, service not. I am not talking about the service personel, but the way how it is organized - wouldn't want to experience that on a really crowded day, let alone pay 160 Rand for it (it was included in my rate).
People were very friendly. Everything is very clean.
The check-in however can take some while as they seem to be a bit overchallenged. They also turned on the air conditioning during winter which does not make much sense. WiFi access is very slow and you have to pay it first. When you check out you get the money back. That's inconvenient.
