I absolutely liked the friendliness of the staff. They were very cordial and helpful. Room was well decorated clean.

The room has very less moving space. I stayed in 'Nairobi' and they have put this wooden blocks for decoration. This limits the movement inside the room. Breakfast spreads can be much better for 12 EUROS

I had reason to be in the Heidelberg area where my colleague and I needed one nights accommodation. For whatever reason two of the most popular hotels were fully booked and based on the Tripadvisor reviews and its very location my colleague booked us into the Hip Hotel. This independent family owned and run hotel is located right on the main shopping street in the centre of this beautiful town. Having flown overnight and arrived there at 6.30 am we were provided with the only available room to allow us to change and freshen up before heading off to our meeting. Immediate impressions were positive in relation to the friendliness of the staff, however the hotel lobby area is very small. The only word I can use to describe the hotel is Quirky! Do not see this as a negative comment as it just means that it is certainly different , unusual, and interesting at the same time. This unusualness hits you when you get into the lift and there are no floor numbers. Instead there are lots of buttons all with the names of cities throughout the world on them. I realise now that I still do not know were we on the second or third floor. The buildings are not high. You do get a slightly rambling feel to the room layout and this is ok and consistent with the hotel The Prague room is certainly different and a combination of being grand and casual at the same time. The 4 poster bed gives the feeling of grandure and the 4 lamp street light gives the casual feel. The wall have designs on them line that on the outside of historical buildings and coupled with the street lam pang large poster size prints of city scenes you feel your bed is out in the middle of the street. How unusual and Quirky. When we checked in properly I was given the London room. The design of this room was along a period house theme with timber wall panels to three quarters the way up the walls. Old oil paintings on the wall and an old Johnny Walker statue on the wall confirmed the English theme. The only thing I was confused on was why the door back was padded in green leather padding. Bed was comfortable with slippers beside the bed and a well equipped and clean, but tight bathroom. We did not eat there so I cannot comment on the food. The location of this hotel is excellent. We had an early morning call and when our taxi arrived the hotel clerk phoned us up to advise that taxi was ready and asked what coffee we wanted. It was handed to us as we walked out to the taxi. We both really appreciated this. Overall,, this would not be my typical hotel. There is a possibility I will have to be back in this area again and if so I plan to stay here to try out other cities(rooms). This to me is my ultimate recommendation. It's different from the norm... But that is what makes it really interesting. For those business travelers who like your familiarity from branded hotels and do not like unusual and different hotels this is not the place for you... It is great for the rest of us!!!

quilt on the bed seemed to be shorter than normal
