Evaluations of Henry VIII
Room was clean and in a good area.
Room was too small. Too small. I could hardly place my luggage.
The 4 star rating at this site is incorrect. On Hotels.com and several others this hotel has a 3 star rating.
BOTH LOBBY & ROOM COULD HAVE DONE WITH A BIT OF A SPRUCE UP AS THREADBARE CARPET DOES NOT MAKE A GOOD IMPRESSION
Well worth the price we paid (59 pounds) but not worth the price at the standard rate. Good breakfast. Clean facilities.
Reception staff competent but distracted by friends calling, not quite up to snuff with normal British hospitatliy. The tube passes right beneath the hotel.
Reception desk is very friendly
Very small details: soup, tovel...
freindliness of the staff
TV system is very poor with very little vareity
good location, not far from Kensington Park and Queensway shopping and entertainment area.
During all of our stay, there was no hot water and no heating in the room. First the desk informed us this was due to overloading by the many guests (!) and offered as the only solution that we should find another hotel(!!). After a serious word with the manager a compensation was promised. Of course, when we finally checked out, the manager was not available and we got just a 10% reduction with the promise that the manager would call back which he - of course - didn't. The pool areas is poorly equipped: just one shower without a curtain, open towards the pool, no reclining chairs etc. Also no heating there. The sauna is leaky (insulation-wise) and never heats up to acceptable temperatures. The room was tiny, nearly completely filled out by the double bed. It was not possible to walk around it. Hotel is sub-standard for the price, mainly filled with unpretentious Spanish tourists (hotel owned by Spanish group). They probably will not change anything as they tend to get fresh loads of customers from their partners... Probably our fault to stay there, as we know London prices. Zdenek Lomecky
