Lake Geneva

One of the main attractions for visitors who are heading to Geneva is to see Lake Geneva. For some vigorous exercise, take the time to stroll along the shoreline of the lake, and make sure to catch a view of the famous fountain, Jet d’Eau, in the lake. During the summer, many visitors will flock to the beaches around the lake, as well as many of the little beach bars and cafes including Plage du Reposoir.

There are also a number of other ways to experience the lake beyond just enjoying the shoreline and beaches. Many visitors love taking one of the ferries that travel across the lake. It provides for a great view of the lake and surrounding city, as well as the mountain views of Mont Blanc.

After spending ample time outside, visitors can head to some of the many museums that are located in and around Geneva that cover a number of different topics. One of the most popular includes the Musee des Arts d’Extreme-Orient which showcases an impressive collection of Japanese and Chinese art.

Other great museums include the Patek Philippe Museum, which showcases one of Switzerland’s most famous and elegant watch brands. Another cool site for many families would be to explore the ruins at the Archeological Site located at St. Pierre’s Cathedral. These are just a few of the main attractions to be found in Geneva.
