Hotel location
Evaluations of Freehand Chicago
located in downtown
Very small room, noisy when someone walks or talks on the hall way
Location - Centre of city - close to may restaurants, site seeing - Great
Should not be called as a hotel - its a bachelor mansion probably - but a different experience
The room was clean, staff was friendly
First time I had to use elevator (there were 2 of them), I had to wait 10-15 mins (!) just to get to 9th floor. I was taking stair for the rest of my trip, both ways... Room was extremely small (queen bed plus 1-2 feet of space around) // bathroom so small there was no counter (shelf on the wall instead). No exhaust fan in the bathroom is such a small place... A/C was set to extremely low temperature (in the mid of Oct in Chicago?). There was A/C remote in the room but one could not change anything (set to ´´Central control´´?). I was at least able to turn it off and just use natural heat during the day (cold during the night). One of my colleagues had the temperature set opposite way - extremely high (w/o ability to change it either). Rooms were extremely close w/o any sound isolation. If someone in other room would open water, it sounded like it was happening in my own bathroom (very loud). One of my colleagues had a room under the stairs so he could not sleep due to people walking on the stairs all the time and making loud noise. We all stayed 2 nights // one night supposedly included breakfast. One of my colleagues try to grab breakfast but there was nothing available, all he could do was to grab a banana and leave. Overall, that was the worst hotel stay I've had for the last 10 years. We had 4 people in the group sharing very similar experience // so it wasn't just my experience. Totally would not recommend.
Excellent bar with craft cocktails and delicious creative food menu
Continental breakfast in the hostel kitchen downstairs
Wonderful hotel! Great location, great staff!
