Evaluations of Europäischer Hof am Dom
Closeliness the shoppings areas, train station, DOM and other leisure places Availability of smoking rooms
quality of rooms no restaurant no air conditioning bad internet services (free acces only for half an hour)
It is near to shops, near to the center of the city - the hotel stuff was very polite
the room was in a prehistoric state (furniture / design / floor covering (!) / windows ) - so small, that one person had to creep over the other to reach or lieve the own place in a very small bed.
horrible hotel. should never be booked by any one
Large room Location (the Dom is a 5 minute walk away) Friendly staff Good price/quality ratio (you couldn't ask for more for this price) Cleaning of the room was done every day
They really need new floor carpets. There were stains everywhere, we could see signs of mold in the corners. Our room was at the busy street side, so traffic noises could be heard throughout the night
No positive comments.
A German guest was comming after us. She received the key of the room without any comments, whenwe was written our dates on ´´formular´´. We must have pay the room in advance. At the end of the day, we are also citizens of the EU, no ? In the morning when we leave the hotel the sensor for smoke from the ceiling of the room was falling down on the bed. By chance we was moving out the lugagges then. In 2008 I was in a hotel 200m on other street with less money, decent with the same policy regarding the payment.
A Budget price hotel, right in the center of town. One that you can spend more than a few nights at to have a good sleep. Room condition is better than the common area.
Elevator shuts down after 11:00 Pm. That is a problem if you are on the third floor. Carpeting in all of the hotel, particularly the common area is pretty much stained all over.
For anyone looking to stay in Cologne for a day or two then the hotel is ideal. Easy walking or a short cab ride from the rail station and cathedral. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, bars and coffee shops
Can't really complain about Euro 70 a night though my only suggestion would be the inclusion of a fridge in each room to keep drinks and or foodstuffs in overnight.
Location, near of cathedral and metro station
The reception does not work during the night. The have a stupid system to give you the keys after 23 PM. You have to cal for a number for someone give you the password to open the key box and pick up yor room key. When I did it an UNPOLITE person hesited to give me this code... Why they do not give this code when the guess make their check in .... or they suppose that you should come back before 23PM. The hotel dos not have any wireless
in serious need of updating
for its position right in Köln center its really ok!! think i couldnt find anything cheaper and better positioned than this. if you dont expect that much, if you want to see the city more than hanging around in your room, its really ok. staff was friendly and the bed was good and clean.
the carpet has to be renewed seriously soon (as i expected from other descritptions) but the rest of the room seemed to be really clean. the smoke of cigarettes came inside our room under the door, which turned out to be a problem in the night.. we solved it by putting a towel under the door. no breakfast...
