Evaluations of Das Ebertor Hotel&Hostel
Great location easy parking nice breakfast
Close to Rhine river ,across road to promenade ,close to village.
Catchers for the over sixties, no facilities for children
Close to the river
Reservation was not recorded - they had no info from hotel.info - luckily for us they decided to honour the booking as I had email evidence but I was disappointed and discomfited that they had no record of the booking
The new rooms which are about Euro 40 more than the old room are a must. Do NOT take a room that is not part of the main 5 story hotel- these rooms are like a motel and have no view or windows except onto the parking lot. Refurbished rooms are clean and in great condition in the 5 story hotel. Try get a high room 3rd or 4th floor. Beds are fantastic, has tv, free internet, bathroom is fantastic and big. It has a sitting area and a desk to work. I would stay in the new section again. Price is a bit high but with the view I suppose fair at EURO 110 per night for the room. breakfast extra- fair at 5 Euros per person. This hotel has 2 definite sections the new multi story is a good place and the old section that is on ground level and seems apart from the hotel not great. I could write 2 different reports on the same hotel. yes to new section and a definite no to old section.
The low priced rooms on ground level that are not part of the hotel are like a motel. They are fine if you just want a bed and a place to sleep- but do not expect more. Room is dark but clean in old section, but do noit think this room classifies as a hotel. There is a small sitting area in the room but the only window is looking onto the parking lot. This hotel is like 2 different establishments- the main hotel with 5 stories is fantastic but the old section is not great. New is a definite must if you can get a river view. Old section a no go for me. I managed to upgrade to the new hotel at Euro 40 for the room per night extra and this was a great choice. I was very happy in new room but would have been very sad to stay in motel kind of rooms especially in such a pretty town where most people are there for the scenery. beware all resturants stop food early and you will not get food after 21h30!!
a very good hotel i wll stay ther again when i am in germany
none
The best hotel of the six we selected while travelling in Germany. very good location, nice town, and right by the river Rhine.
A smell in the bathroom was solved by running some water down the shower and bath drains.
Excellent location, a couple of minutes from the station and Rhine. We had a very nice room with super views of the river. Would definitely book again if ever back in the area.
With the windows shut the room was extremely quiet but freight trains and barges could be heard pretty loudly with the window open. It was a small price to pay to be near the water and it will be the same in all hotels in the area. One small issue for us was the breakfast, it was extremely basic.
Large, clean, quiet & comfortable room made this professionally run hotel a delight to stay in.A great breakfast helped round it off.Outperforms its cost by a mile. Can't wait to go back.
The hotel was lovely and the food and wine was excellent. Didn't stay long enough and will definitely go back.
nice location good price-performance ratio
breakfast could be a bit better
