Evaluations of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Suites Charleston Airport
Nice hotel, rooms were nice
The lady who checked me in was less than helpful regarding the breakfast being included.
3 observations: 1. The HVAC in the first room was quite noisy. I had to request another room. Please upgrade to a silent/new motor 2. The deadbolt was not locking in the second room. But somebody came and repaired it. 3. Somebody tried to open the door while the sign ´´do not disturb´´ was outside the door.
The hotel and room were nice and seemed new.
Multiple little problems including a room not being ready on time, dirty condiments, being told breakfast wasn't included when it was, missing food items, moldy fruit, a waste basket being left on top of a room service tray, and dirty looking water for tea.
staff was very friendly and helpful
I have stayed at other Doubletree locations and this breakfast really did not equal those. It was good but not great.
Whenever I visit ChP, I stay here -- wifi speeds are good, the breakfast selection is very good (hot foods, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, and assorted fruits), and there is ample parking (even if the parking spots are behind the hotel). The rooms are very comfortable. I will continue to stay here when traveling for business.
The time to check-in and check-out process is somewhat really quite slow. The silverware used at breakfast didn't always appear completely clean.
The clean of the rooms, the breakfast, internet, infrastructure was incredible. Also the behaviour of the two women's at the receptions of the morning was perfect.
In spite of having made a reservation, I had to wait 2 hours after 3 pm to be able to enter my room. In addition, the attitude of the lady of reception was not the friendliest.
Digital key never activated, despite email and phone message that it was on its way.
front desk friendliness
Noise come from outside
Hotel is fine.
Area immediately around the hotel is not so great.
The Double Tree referred me to another Hilton property (Homewood Suites) that was luckily right next door. The accommodations were very nice at the Homewood Suites. I would rate the Homewood Suites a solid 8 out of 10, maybe more. It looked as if the interior of the hotel had been totally renovated. I would recommend the Homewood Suites.
Upon my arrival I was notified that the Double Tree had overbooked even though I had made reservations weeks in advance. I don't know anything about the interior of the hotel. The exterior could use some work. I don't know if I would recommend the Double Tree. There was no other concession that I was given for my trouble.
