Evaluations of Courtyard Cologne
Great location, easy walking access to the Dom platz, Alt-markt, heu-markt. Breakfast, especially coffee was great. Fitness center was really good.
Air conditioning was lacking for me. Admittedly, I'm used to US air conditioning. :) I still would recommend this hotel.
On this stay the breakfast was included, which is an improvement compared with an earlier stay I made at the same hotel, for which it was not included. This hotel is secure and has a competent staff, and is clean and well ordered.
I did not like that the hotel charges a deposit against my credit card at the time of check in.
Overall quality and location
Slow Internet, very limited choice of vegetables for breakfast
Nicely appointed rooms Quiet, despite downtown setting Decent internet/wifi speed Proximity to Köln Hbf or Köln Hansaring
Limited parking spaces in their garage Breakfast is OK - I have enjoyed better options at Lindner or other hotels near Leverkusen / Köln / Düsseldorf
Accessibility to train station (10 minute walk), grocery store across street, very friendly staff.
The breakfast offering was expensive for most hotels provide as a complimentary continental breakfast. (It was 18 Euros and contained eggs, meat, cereals, fruit and Danish's).
Provided both firm and down pillows for guests with different preferences Very comfortable bed and sheets A few of the staff remembered me by name each time I walked through- I was impressed.
Outlets serve only German plugs, not German/UK as in other area hotels-disappointing as this means my kit can only support one instead of two outlet conversions. Had to spend an extra 20 euro for another. :( TERRIBLE TEMP CONTROL on shower, no tub, and no door makes for a drafty experience. Water cycled from barely tepid to almost scalding for my entire shower while the doorless design left the area drafty. The modern sink was poorly designed and did not drain well. Glass door and rubber stopper for bathroom door are VERY LOUD. This is all you can hear every blasted morning starting at 5am. Needs a felt covering or something. Eggs were cold EVERY MORNING and selection of cold cuts and ´´hot´´ items was limited compared to other area hotels. VERY TACKY to ask for tips for the breakfast, especially if they're not bringing beverages or anything. Only clearing dishes. Do not try to drive any sizeable vehicle into the parking garage. Tight corners.
Staff was great...especially the staff at the bar and wait staff. Marcus was the best!!!
Noise level outside my room.
Simple, quiet, and clean. Comfortable stay for the price.
Breakfast service was chaotic on several days
new building, new rooms, small but efficient business center
my room was facing the street and very noisy. electricity went out in my room during the night and a technician needed to fix it. Very young and unexperienced front desk stuff. Not veryy polite. Breakfast area crowded, too small. location not very good.
Modern and clean room.
Didn't replace cups and left dirty ones in room. Left soaking wet towels in the room instead of replacing them.
