Evaluations of BW PLUS BOSTON HOTEL
very nice staff, room nicely furnished
very loud at night, heavy traffic right in front of my window (and bad windows!). breakfast on plastic plates and with plastic cutlery - but that seems to be fairly normal in the US. location is fine (good bus connection to MIT/Harvard) but at the beginning of a slightly dodgy neighbourhood
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the suites. The hotel provides earplugs in case of noise, however never experienced any. The WIFI worked wonderfully. The breakfast lounge was spacious and the variety of food very good. The location was very convenient for the event I was going to. So would certainly consider this hotel again.
Room is very spacious and there is equipment to make a coffee and tea, also a fridge and two TV sets (one in the living room and one in the bedroom). At 5:30 PM there are cookies and coffee/tea in the lobby (drinks are available 24h/day anyhow). There is also a complimentary shuttle to the major transport links in the town. The location of the hotel is nearby the bus number 1 stop, so it is very convenient as the bus is going along the Mass Ave and linking to the other T lines.
As the hotel is near Boston University Medical Center and Massachusetts Avenue, there is a lot of noise which is not getting very well cancelled by a bit old windows, which for sure are not sound- (nor heat-) proof. So eventually, even during the night it is quite noisy (ambulances, choppers, etc.), not to mention that the heater is also very noisy (and as it was very cold I had to keep it on during the night). A lot of heat is also escaping through this not so well isolated windows. The bathroom looks rather old and unrenovated for a very long time (a lamp near the mirror was a bit broken). Also a big minus is that there is not heating in the bathroom, so it is really cold there.
helpful staff, clean
loud at night, not the best area
