Evaluations of Best Western The Stuart Hotel-Derby
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was ok, but I wouldn't like to stay for more a couple of nights. Good car parking at the rear.
No lift. Corridors and rooms are in desperate need or a re-fresh. Bar area is smelly, old fashioned and has live football matches playing as entertainment for the staff, not for the guests comfort.
Really smart and modern hotel.

Booking in process. Why do you need to swipe credit cards and ask for the details incl the CSV no. to be written on your form. Every other hotel I have been to in the last 10 years have just swiped the card as pre authorisation. When I asked why I was told ´´company policy´´ note really and answer. Despite advertising in the room details that bar food was available from 12 noon to 10pm, I went to the bar at 17.30 as I had had a long day and wanted to eat and get to bed, I was told kitchen did not open until 6pm. Whilst by chilli nachos were tasty they were not exactly hot more luke warm. I could not be bothered to say anything as staff seemed over worked and not enough of them. The bar man had to keep leaving the bar to look after reception. The bedroom was noisy from other guests moving about above, and when the heating came on at 5am it made such a loud noise that it woke me up. And I am a heavy sleeper. No VAT receipts were available for my purchases at the bar, I was told that even though I had paid cash they would be listed on my bill in the morning and they weren't. In addition the room bill was printed in such a way that it was difficult to read, when I asked for it to be reprinted I was told not possible. This is not the sort of service I expect from a large chain of hotels and has made me reluctant to book with Best Western in the future. Having discussed this with my colleagues they have said that they have experienced bad service at Best Western themselves!!!
No breakfast, a.c not working properly, few staff not friendly some times. No proper attemt the AC repairs.
My room was at the top of the stairs in a corridor which split eachway - people stopped at talked loudly outside of my room. I was here on business and wanted to get an early night and was disrupted because of noise from people continuously until very late.
