Evaluations of Azimut
It was my second stay and this time I asked for a room further away from the railway lines - this has made a big difference. The same very large and comfortable room like the last time but in a much quieter location.
basic but practical gym // location close to a park and railway station // modern hotel // large room // good breakfast selection
I would not recommend this hotel if you cannot tolerate noise of the nearby railway lines.
The TV program list is too poor, No music channels, No english channels like CNN, BBC, Euronews etc
Gute Zentrallage, auch das Parkhaus ist nahe bei
Great location. 1 min to the S & U Bahn. Luxurious spacious clean room. Reasonable cost.
The hotel is directly over the train tracks but with the windows closed, the noise is almost 100% cancelled.........the gym is larger than any other European hotel I've seen, and the breakfast was wonderful (though a bit expensive)
We waited in line at checkout for a long time, and I don't know why because when we got to the counter, OUR checkout took about 20 seconds.............
I'm a frequent visitor to the Azimut so I'd definitely recommend it to regular travellers to the Cologne area
The only negative is that there is not restaurant in the hotel though lite snacks are available at the bar. Surrounding the hotel the are a number of places to eat though this isn't always convenient if you arrrive late at night
The rooms were clean and spacy. Even though one had to shower in the bath, this was no problem since the showerhead functioned very good. Hotel was on walking distance from several restaurants.
In the hotel there is no possibility to have diner. This is, as far as I could notice, not mentioned on their website. No WIFI internet on the rooms // only with cable which they did not have availabale anymore. Parking Eur 15 per day is rather expensive. Also breakfast @ Eur 15 is too expensive.
Very nice hotel, great breakfast, sauna until midnight.
The room was the biggest I have ever seen in a Hotel anywhere in the world! The interiors are immaculate and clean. The room came with a double bed, couple of chairs, a dressing area and a sofa-bed. Even though close to the Rail lines, the room was surprisingly quiet. We stayed for 2 nights as a family with our 2 kids and they also thouroughly enjoyed the space in the room. The breakfast even though on the expensive side was good. We did not lack anything in the Breakfast Buffet. The kids ate free though.
The Hotel is not impressive from the outside and I am not sure about the area. We reached the hotel in the night and the surroundings didnt look really ideal to be in with a family. The check-in and checkout was a pain. The reception area is really small and cramped with only 2 staff and the process was slow. Even though the room had a Sofa bed we were not allowed to use it as it would incur an additional €30 charge/ night.
