Evaluations of Hotel Adler Leipzig
The lady that took care of us most of the time was super friendly
In one room the mirror light was broken, they promised to fix it, never happened. The breakfast buffet was ok, but on the second day the scrambled eggs looked like a health hazard :/ Wifi is all nice, if it would work in every room, it didn't. One room was constantly a sauna because there was no ventilation whatsoever in the bathroom. Amenities varied from room to room. It's not great if you have a shower door (if you even had one) and it is in three pieces and falls apart at every attempt to close it. The emergency light in the hallway was tapped to the ceiling. The ceiling in the hallway had tape at the border all the way. The emergency instructions only led to the staircase, no emergecy doors or meeting points. The reception wasn't manned at all times, not at all at Sunday, so we had to inform other guests who were waiting to check in. It claims to have parking spaces, but actually just thereby means 'use the street'. The fire extinguishers are just standing in corners and the last check was supposed to be 2016. Plus it was standing on the emergency instructions, very helpful if they face the floor instead of being on the wall... We were told that we need the key at night as the door is closed, first night it wasn't, anyone could just walk in. The elevator was useless in the morning as the cleaning staff blocked it with their trolley. The amount of dust in at least one room was enough to kill you-constant sneezing due to allergy. The keys aren't even the same, it looked like somebody had just grabbed a bunch of keyrings at a second-hand market, some were even just marked with edding. Doubt the bar was ever manned, at least not to our knowledge. I could write pages worth still of what's wrong for a so claimed 3 star hotel, but you get the picture. 2 stars ok, but it definitely doesn't hit the 3 star mark by our standards and as the reception was not manned most of the time, apart from mornings, by a trainee, without anybody to help, it doesn't meet German standards either. Being asked to return whenever the boss is around for questions is not great either when you actually have things to do in town and nobody wants to interrupt their stay in Leipzig to run back to the hotel. Also several emails didn't go through for guests because of an email change and thus there was no confirmation for rates or booking changes.
very nice stuff, unfortunately impossible to explain misunderstoods, so be careful while booking the room and paying for them.
Owner very unpolite and non-professional (was supposted to call back and has never done it)
Even though the hotel claims offer free parking, what it means is that you can park on the street close to it, therefore the car will be unattended, but the hotel itself is very good, and I would recomend it.
It claims to offer free parking when it really means there is parking on the street close to the hotel.
Good breakfast and pretty good room for the price.
The hotel is in a very bad area (lots of old, destroyed buildings) and there are NO decent restaurants in the entire area. Also, the staff seems friendly but doesn't know much and is unable to help with even simple requests. Hotel advertises free WiFi but it simply doesn't work.
Sehr Gut fuer den Preis
Small hotel in somewhat-dingy suburbs - about 10mins away by tram from the Centre. Clean, small room, with hot water and adequate breakfast and ususable wifi. Very good value. However, full-price during Leipzig Trade Fairs would not be so good.
Description talks about Sbahn from Leipzig HBF. Please be aware that only the trains leaving on the hour offer lift-access (2mins to the hotel from the station). Others goto another platform which has lots of steps.
The hotel is in an area with many abandoned houses, many housed are in bad shape, so the immage of the hotel is also not good.
we arrived to a nice welcomoe from a young woman who was polite and helpful. we were priveledged to arrive in the midst of refurbishment and be the firs to chrisen the room. highly recommended location lovely people
due to the heat we had to sleep with our windows opened which made it noisey due t the frequent trains.
Very friendly staff, who will put themselves out for the guests. Good breakfast. Good connections into the city on tram or train.
Doesn't have a restaurant in an area where there are not many places to eat.
