Originally built in the 16th century the Red Lion Hotel offers the tradition of old world craftsmanship, featuring exposed timber beams & a large Tudor fireplace, with modern day comfort. The hotel has 55 en-suite guest bedrooms & all have air conditioning, modem points, tea & coffee making facilities and Sky TV. There are two superior rooms, The Charles I Room - He is reputed to have taken respite in The Red Lion in 1646 escaping from the Cromwellites after a battle at Oxford), and The Brunel Room -named after the renowned engineer & local University. The air conditioned & non smoking restaurant has a bright skylight & is ideal for meeting friends for a light & healthy lunch, as well as the more traditional dishes associated with a good English inn. In the evenings the soft lighting creates the right setting for that special occasion. Chef Peter Stevens offers a full a la carte menu as well as a very reasonably priced fixed price dinner menu, supplemented with freshly cooked daily specials. The Pub offers Fullers finest quality ales, such as London Pride & Honeydew, the patio area overlooking Hillingdon Hill is ideal for a pre or apres dinner drink. The Hotel is an ideal base for both business & leisure visitors. Only 15 minutes away from Heathrow Airport & located close to Uxbridge Station, Metropolitan & Piccadilly underground lines give easy access to cenetral London & the City. The M4, M1, M40 & M25 are within easy reach of the hotel. Business areas such as Uxbridge, Stockley park, Hayes & Wembley as well as nearby attractions such as Windsor, Ascot, Legoland, Thorpe Park & the New Wembley Stadium can be reached by car. |

Follow signs for A408 out of Terminals 1,2 & 3 carry on through first roundabout under M4.
After 2 miles at next roundabout, turn right (B465). Turn left at next set of traffic lights(A437). After approx half a mile carry on straight through two mini roundabouts.
At A4020 junction (Prince of Wales public house on right) tturn left onto Dual Carriage way, stay in left lane.
Turn left after pelican crossing into Royal Lane.

From South/North Terminals follow signs for M25 towards London Heathrow.
Follow signs to M40/A40 junction J16/1A. After Junction 1 (Denham) take next exit (Swakleys Corner) for the B467 to Uxbridge. At the third roundabout take the A4020 towards Hayes passing RAF Uxbridge on your left. After the third set of traffic lights turn right at the junction of the Prince of Wales Pub (A437).
Follow the road for 1/2 mile past the Turks Head Pub. At the mini roundabout turn back on yourself.
When arriving back at the traffic lights turn left onto the dual carriage way. Take the first left for the Red Lion after the Pelican crossing into Royal Lane. The hotel car park is 50 yards on the right hand side. |
