The 3 star Hotel Portole in Cortona is located amid the woods and fields of the Tuscan mountainside, a few kilometers from the ancient Etruscan town which was a center of art and culture. This exceptional location, with its panoramic views across the Val di Chiana to Lake Trasimeno and Mount Amiata, offers the perfect, tranquil spot for a quiet holiday with excellent opportunities for country walks, mountain bike rides and cultural excursions to nearby towns. After a busy day, a delicious Tuscan meal awaits the returning guest and the peace and quiet of the mountain promises a good nights sleep. There are 20 quiet and elegantly furnished rooms, all with a private bathroom with shower, telephone, and satellite TV. A terrace with a panoramic view is also available for outside dining. The Hotel is traditionally built in local Tuscan limestone. In the large inviting dining room, lovers of good food can sample the typical Tuscan dishes made with fresh ingredients and accompanied by local wines.
