The Longemont Hotel Shanghai, though a serious business hotel, the 511-room has plenty of charm. Rooms have sleek, generous work spaces, pillowtop beds and suite showers with floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the Puxi district. The young English-speaking staff are thoroughly professional, and there is a tennis court, a lap pool, and a spa with a Vichy shower. Sunday brunch is a global culinary tour. For a portable lunch, Tongs deli counter, a chic little eatery, does great takeaway.
